— Nightmare Fog is Bakumu's food source, so it consumes the Nightbear and purifies it inside its stomach.

— The Nightbear goes out and hangs out in the dream world again.

This is their natural symbiotic cycle. Nightbears don't come out into the real world very often, but these ones have become attached to Syalis and like to visit her with a brush in hand.
